Memorial Day Pilgrimage
On Monday, May 25th, members of the Mission traveled to St. Tikhon's Orthodox Monastery in South Canaan, PA, for the annual Memorial Day Pilgrimage.
The day began with a 3:30am departure from the church in Dagsboro, DE. Then the group traveled by bus from St. Stephen's Orthodox Cathedral in Philadelphia, PA to the monastery in South Canaan, PA.
Following the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy with Metropolitan Jonah, there was a memorial service in which we especially remembered those who gave their lives in service to America. After lunch, we venerated the Sitka Icon of the Mother of God and participated in an Akathist to St. Alexis of Wilkes-Barre, PA. Then we visited the museum dedicated to Orthodoxy in America and the St. Tikhon's Bookstore. Finally, before departure, there was a healing service with annointing of oil.
Many thanks to those who made the pilgrimage. Glory and thanks be to God!

The 16 teams with 32 total players competed in a March Madness-styled, bracketed tournament which resulted in a good time had by all. We thank the Lord for a beautiful day and all the participants as well as those who put on the event. Glory to God for all things!
