Every day you provide your bodies with good to keep them from failing. In the same way your good works should be the daily nourishment of your hearts. Your bodies are fed with food and your spirits with good works. You aren't to deny your soul, which is going to live forever, what you grant to your body, which is going to die.

St. Gregory the Great

I've never fasted before, well at least not for a whole fasting season. And I'm afraid to start because the fasting guidelines look to be just too difficult for me. What should I do?

Nativity of the Lord - 2009

Friday, December 25, 2009

Today the faithful gathered at the Mission to glorify the God who out of His infinite love took flesh for us men and our salvation. We extend to you our festal greetings, wishing you all the blessings that come from the super-abundance of God's goodness. Christ is born! Glorify Him!

Today we also extend our warm congratulations to Daniel Reynolds who entered into the Catechumenate during the Nativity Liturgy. May the Lord continue to bless, enlighten, and sanctify him!

Christmas Carols

The following is a small collection of Christmas Carols from the Eastern and Western traditions. For those who can stay, we'll be singing these carols during the coffee hour on Sunday, December 27th.

All the Universe Rejoices
Angels We Have Heard
The First Noel
Hark the Herald
Heaven and Earth
Joy to the World
O Come All Ye Faithful
On this Bright Day
Silent Night
There is Joy in Bethlehem
There was Great Rejoicing
We Three Kings
