25th Anniversary of Christ the Savior

We are overjoyed to announce that His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon will visit Christ the Savior Orthodox Church on August 23-24, 2025, as we celebrate our 25th Anniversary! This momentous occasion will be a time of worship, fellowship, and thanksgiving to Almighty God for His abundant blessings over the past quarter-century.

We look forward to welcoming our beloved hierarch, along with clergy and faithful from near and far—especially those who helped found and nurture our parish. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us for this joyous celebration!

As we prepare for this milestone, we also give thanks for the continued growth of our parish. By God’s grace, Christ the Savior is flourishing, and we are advancing in our plans to build a new church temple in Berlin, Maryland. This effort is gaining momentum thanks to a $100,000 matching donation to the building fund throughout 2025—our 25th Anniversary year.

Luncheon RSVP

As we prepare to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of our parish, we warmly invite everyone—parishioners and visitors alike—to join us for a special 25th Anniversary Luncheon at Signatures Bayside Restaurant following the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy with Metropolitan Tikhon on Sunday, August 24, 2025. This is a joyous occasion for our entire parish family, and all are not only welcome, but sincerely encouraged to attend—regardless of ability to contribute.

We invite you to make a donation to help cover the cost of the meal and other celebration expenses (suggested: $50/adult and $20/child). If you are able, please also consider giving a little extra to support those who may not be able to contribute at this time. Your generosity will help ensure that everyone can participate fully in this celebration without hesitation or concern.

We estimate the total costs of the 25th Anniversary Celebration to be around $7,500.  Donations of any amount are appreciated and can be made below, at the candle stand, or by speaking with Georgianne Mathews, our 25th Anniversary Committee Chair.

Special Parish Meeting: Building Update - 11/02/25

On Sunday, November 2, 2025, Christ the Savior Orthodox Church held a Special Parish Meeting following the Divine Liturgy. The Long-Term Planning Committee presented updates on the new temple project, highlighting parish growth, architectural plans by CJK Design, and progress in fundraising exceeding $220,000. Parishioners heard insights from other successful building efforts and reflected on the importance of faith, unity, and generosity as the community works together to realize its vision for a new church.
