Dear Parishioners and Friends,
Glory to Jesus Christ!
It is with great joy and excitement that I write to invite you to attend an historic weekend this August 20-21 at Christ the Savior Orthodox Mission in which we welcome His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon to celebrate the burning of the mortgage on our Parish Center.
Such a momentous celebration is actually happening some 15-years ahead of schedule as a supremely generous and anonymous donor has paid off the remaining $318,000 left on the mission’s only remaining mortgage! Such an act of love and sacrifice has not only pushed the mission years ahead in its material and institutional development but has also, and even more importantly, served to inspire us, not through mere words but by concrete deeds, to reconsider our own potential and high calling in Christ, by maximizing the talents entrusted to our care through authentic and full devotion to God, His Church, and the extension of His Kingdom.
We ask that you come and join us in giving thanks and praise to Almighty God, who continues to work in stunning fashion through His people, not only inspiring them with extraordinary visions of what could be, if we only open our eyes to His divine providence for our lives, individually and collectively, but also empowers us, through His creative grace, to make these heavenly dreams a reality.
The schedule for the weekend’s events, will include, in addition to the Great Vespers (6pm on August 20th) and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy (9:00am on August 21st), a special Molieben of Thanksgiving, a festive luncheon and a pool party to which everyone is invited.
May the Lord God bless this generous donor, together with all of the founders, benefactors, beautifiers and supporters of Christ the Savior Mission throughout the years, granting one and all health, strength, salvation, a furtherance in every good thing, and many blessed years!
With love in Christ,
Fr. John Parsells
