Synopsis: This documentary takes us through the life of Elder Joseph the Hesychast, from his childhood to his time as a monk on Mount Athos. The film includes authentic reenactments, interviews with his disciples—such as Saint Efraim of Katounakia—and a music video for the song "A Prayer for All," based on a poem by Joseph. It also features beautiful music, chants of Byzantium, and stunning landscapes of Mount Athos. Actor Jonathan Jackson portrays Elder Joseph, bringing his story to life.
About the Subject: Saint Joseph, born Fragkiskos Kottis in 1897 in Lefkes, Greece, served in the Greek Navy and worked as a vendor in Athens before becoming a monk on Mount Athos. His dedication to prayer and asceticism led to his canonization by the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

On March 9, 2025, we celebrated the Sunday of Orthodoxy with a procession of icons to the Archway at our roadside entrance during the Divine Liturgy. There we had a reading of the ancient Synodicon, the affirmation of the Orthodox Faith that our salvation is proclaimed in both words and images, and the faithful recited the Nicene Creed. We congratulate all who celebrate on this day!
