St. Michael's Party - 11/07/10

On Sunday, November 7th, the Sunday between Halloween and the feast of the Holy Angels (Nov. 8th), a St. Michael's Party was held for the children of the parish.

While some children dressed as the Archangel Gabriel, one of the Angels at the Tomb of Christ, St. George and the dragon, St. Elisabeth the New-Martyr, and St. Alexander Hotovitsky, others dressed as modern Saints of the 21st century.

After a lesson with the church school leaders, Fr. John carved a "Christian Pumpkin" explaining how God carves out the bad stuff in us called sin and replaces it with His light, so that even when it gets dark out we can still be happy and unafraid because the Lord's light is within us.
