Christ the Savior Church welcomes Rev. John Parsells
Christ the Savior Church, a mission of the Orthodox Church in America, ministers to the faithful residents and visitors of Delmarva. This past August the parish, located at 1400 Coastal Highway in Fenwick Island, welcomed Rev. John Parsells, a newly ordained priest from New Jersey, as its first fulltime pastor since its founding in 2000.
In addition to the liturgical services which are offered each week at 6:00pm Saturday night and 9:00am Sunday morning, Christ the Savior also hosts Bible studies and Adult classes on the Orthodox Faith – an ancient faith traced back to the Apostles themselves.
“We are church for people of all ages, ethnicities, and races, for both families and singles, and for all those who are searching for the anchor of a traditional Christian community in our rootless society,” said Fr. Parsells. “All are welcome to worship with us, as we seek to be conformed to Christ’s example of true humanity, so that we can become, as the Apostle Peter says, “’partakers of the divine nature’.” (2 Peter 1:4)
Since its inception, membership has steadily risen as dozens of Orthodox Christians and those new to the Faith have found a spiritual home at Christ the Savior. For more information, please visit www.orthodoxdelmarva.org or call 302-537-6055.

Sunday of Orthodoxy - 03/09/25
On March 9, 2025, we celebrated the Sunday of Orthodoxy with a procession of icons to the Archway at our roadside entrance during the Divine Liturgy. There we had a reading of the ancient Synodicon, the affirmation of the Orthodox Faith that our salvation is proclaimed in both words and images, and the faithful recited the Nicene Creed. We congratulate all who celebrate on this day!
