Mission Chooses New Home - 11/04/07

On Sunday, November 4, 2007, a Special Parish Meeting was held at Christ the Savior Orthodox Church. The meeting was called to discuss the 2008 Budget and the future home of the Mission.

During the meeting the Parish decided unanimously to move the Church to Vines Creek in Dagsboro, Delaware, where another rental facility would serve as the Mission's home until such a time as land could be purchased and a permanent church be built.

The Vines Creek Professional Center, which will house the Mission, is centrally located on Route 26 between the northern and southern beaches and the major routes of Coastal Highway and Route 113. The new address of the Mission will be 30838 Vines Creek Road, Dagsboro, Delaware, 19939.

In addition to being closer to parishioner's homes, the new facility will also provide room to accommodate the Mission's growing congregation which has steadily risen since the founding of the Church in 2000.

For the time being, the Mission will continue to meet at 1400 Coastal Highway in Fenwick Island, Delaware. More information regarding the timing of the move will be forthcoming.

Blessing of Chariots - 07/24/22

On Sunday, July 24, 2022, at the end of the Divine Liturgy, we had the annual Blessing of Chariots (cars, trucks, bikes, etc).  It is a custom of Orthodox Christians to have their cars blessed both when newly acquired and on or near the feast of the Prophet Elias (July 20th), as he ascended as if into heaven on a fiery chariot. We thank God for a truly blessed day!
