Pilgrimage to St. Tikhon's Monastery & Seminary
On the weekend of October 23-25, about a dozen members of the mission made a pilgrimage to St. Tikhon's Monastery and Seminary in South Canaan, Pennsylvania.
The pilgrimage began with travel prayers at Christ the Savior Mission on Saturday morning at 6:00am. The group arrived at St. Tikhon's about 1:30pm, at which time we walked the Monastery grounds. Following the Vigil at 4:30pm, the monks offered us a hospitable meal in the trapeza.
On Sunday, we attended the Divine Liturgy at the Monastery church. Fr. John was pleased to concelebrate with his old school-mate, now abbot of St. Tikhon's, Igumen Sergius. After coffee hour, the group made its way to Holy Protection Greek Orthodox Monastery in White Haven, PA. There we visited the bookstore and attended Vespers with the nuns. The day concluded with a molieben at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Olyphant, PA, before the myrrh-streaming Iveron Icon of the Mother of God.
Monday began with the 7:00am Divine Liturgy at St. Tikhon's, followed by a highly informative tour of the Monastery's church, grounds, and museum. Before lunch with the seminarians, Bishop Tikhon received the group at the diocesan center for a conversation on the spiritual life. Following lunch we attended classes at the Seminary and made one final visit to the bookstore before returning home.
Appreciation is expressed to Fr. Daniel Hubiak, who served the Divine Services at Christ the Savior in Fr. John's absence. Glory and thanks be to God for all things!

Sunday of Orthodoxy - 03/09/25
On March 9, 2025, we celebrated the Sunday of Orthodoxy with a procession of icons to the Archway at our roadside entrance during the Divine Liturgy. There we had a reading of the ancient Synodicon, the affirmation of the Orthodox Faith that our salvation is proclaimed in both words and images, and the faithful recited the Nicene Creed. We congratulate all who celebrate on this day!
