Blessing of Parish Icon

On Sunday, May 11th, we were pleased to have the blessing of our new parish icon, the "Icon Not-Made-By-Hands". This icon is a handpainted copy of the original icon made by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself and given to King Abgar of Edessa.

On this day we also honored our mothers who were celebrating Mother's Day, and we gave thanks to God our Father, Who has given us the Church as our common Mother. "To Him be the glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen." Ephesians 3:21

What is the Orthodox Church?

“The Orthodox Christian Church is evangelical, but not Protestant.
It is orthodox, but not Jewish. It is catholic, but not Roman.
It is not denominational, it is pre-denominational.
It has believed, taught, preserved, defended, and died for the
Faith of the Apostles since the Day of Pentecost nearly 2,000 years ago.”
