Holy Pentecost
image

On Sunday, June 19th, the faithful gathered to celebrate the feast of Pentecost which commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles fifty days after the Lord rose from the dead. As is customary, the Vespers for the Day of the Holy Spirit together with the Kneeling Prayers were served immediately following the Divine Liturgy. We also offered prayers for our teachers and students at the end of the academic year.

“The Orthodox Christian Church is evangelical, but not Protestant.
It is orthodox, but not Jewish. It is catholic, but not Roman.
It is not denominational, it is pre-denominational.
It has believed, taught, preserved, defended, and died for the
Faith of the Apostles since the Day of Pentecost nearly 2,000 years ago.”
