Sunday of Orthodoxy Vespers
image

On Sunday, March 8, the local Orthodox parishes in Delmarva gathered at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Ocean City, MD for this year's solemn celebration of the Triumph of Orthodoxy. Serving with Fr. Chris Wallace from St. George's was Fr. Herman Acker from St. Andrew's in Lewes, DE, and Fr. Joseph Oleynik, Fr. John Parsells, and Dn. Steven Hall from Christ the Savior, here in Berlin, MD. The Sunday of Orthodoxy Vespers was followed by the sharing of fellowship and lenten refreshments in the parish hall. Glory to God for such a beautiful day and sincere thanks to Fr. Chris and St. George's for hosting!

What is the Orthodox Church?

“The Orthodox Christian Church is evangelical, but not Protestant.
It is orthodox, but not Jewish. It is catholic, but not Roman.
It is not denominational, it is pre-denominational.
It has believed, taught, preserved, defended, and died for the
Faith of the Apostles since the Day of Pentecost nearly 2,000 years ago.”
