Patronal Feast

On Sunday, August 16, the faithful gathered to celebrate their parish feastday, the commemoration of the Icon Not-Made-By-Hands. The 20th anniversary celebration with His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon has been postponed to a future date in light of COVID-19 restrictions.

Following the Divine Liturgy, Protopresbyter Daniel Hubiak, the parish's founder, offered words of encouragement and shared with the gathered assembly how it was that the parish received its chosen name and feastday. Fr. John offered words of gratitude to Fr. Daniel and Mat. Dunia for their many labors in establishing and supporting Christ the Savior, and children presented them with flowers as a small token of our thanks and love.

We congratulate and thank all the members, supporters, benefactors, and friends of Christ the Savior, and we look forward to a fuller celebration of the 20th anniversary with Metropolitan Tikhon. Finally, we give thanks and glory to Almighty God for all things!

What is the Orthodox Church?

“The Orthodox Christian Church is evangelical, but not Protestant.
It is orthodox, but not Jewish. It is catholic, but not Roman.
It is not denominational, it is pre-denominational.
It has believed, taught, preserved, defended, and died for the
Faith of the Apostles since the Day of Pentecost nearly 2,000 years ago.”
