10th Anniversary of the Enthronement of Metropolitan Tikhon

On Saturday, January 21, 2023, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon presided at the celebration of the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at St Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral in Washington, DC. The Archdiocesan clergy and faithful gathered in honor of His Beatitude who will mark the tenth anniversary of his primatial enthronement on Friday, January 27.

Concelebrating with His Beatitude were Archpriest Alexander Rentel, OCA Chancellor, Priest Alessandro Margheritino, OCA Secretary, Archpriest John Vitko, Archdiocesan Chancellor, Archpriest John Parker, Dean of Saint Tikhon’s Seminary, and several other archdiocesan clergy, including Archpriest John Parsells from Christ the Savior in Berlin, MD, who was accompanied by his family and parishioners who made the long trip for this historic occasion.
 
Before the Divine Liturgy, during which the Archdiocesan Choir led by Juliana Woodill sung responses, His Beatitude ordained Reader Alexander Woodill to the subdiaconate. Following the service, a lunch was served in His Beatitude’s honor. May God grant His Beatitude many blessed years!

Archpastoral Visit of Metropolitan Tikhon for Patronal Feast - 08/07/26

His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon will make an archpastoral visit to Christ the Savior on August 15-16, 2026, for our Patronal Feast. On Saturday, the Feast of the Dormition, Divine Liturgy with the blessing of flowers will be celebrated at 9:00am, followed by a Festive Lamb Roast with His Beatitude at 3:30pm and Great Vespers at 6:00pm. On Sunday, everyone is asked to gather by 8:30am to welcome Metropolitan Tikhon, followed by the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at 9:00am. After Liturgy, we will process to the archway for our parish photo and conclude with a festive luncheon. Everyone is warmly invited to join us for this special weekend!
